My Favorite Doctors

Y'all:

There used to be this nifty thing I'd do on Facebook that was all top 5 lists.  It was a fun time-killer, but I don't even know if it's still on there.  Last time I used it I found it to be full of hate.  I also read a lot of Cracked.com articles, which are numbered lists of awesomeness and hilarity.

So today I'm sitting down to write my own top 5 list.  My top 5 favorite doctors!

Two ideas you won't agree with...but should

Y'all:

I am not an economist, and I will not pretend to be one.  I am not political.  I am, however, an American citizen, a war veteran, a college student, a husband, and a father.  I believe in the American Dream, yet I'm living the American Nightmare.

I see greed and corruption all around me.  I don't trust our two-party system, and I don't believe that capitalism is in the country's best interests.  I don't believe that the country has the country's best interests at heart.

There are things that this country can do to create jobs, create tax revenue, and reduce spending in other areas.  The two suggestions I propose are not popular with the Powers that Be, the religious extremists, or the people who benefit by not having these options in place, but there is considerable support among the general populace.

Thinking too much

Y'all:

It's another night sitting here, alone, just Sam and I reflecting on Life, the Universe, and Everything.  He's the best friend money can buy.

Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately?) this is the last beer in my fridge, so once I've sucked down every last drop that Sam is willing to give me, I'll be friendless once more.  At least I have my music (I finally hooked up my "stereo" to my laptop), and iTunes is shuffling things up real good tonight.

Isolation, porn, laundry, lunch with friends, homework, bicycle, class, bicycle, isolation, blogging

Y'all:


Today in class we were asked to sum up our day as briefly as possible (six words).  The summary could be as a full sentence, or it could be a list, or a short poem, or whatever we could manage within the allotted length.  Here's what I had:

Isolation, laundry, lunch, class, bicycle, isolation.

Now, if I were to expand on that to get a few more important details in, it would become this:

Isolation, porn, laundry, lunch with friends, homework, bicycle, class, bicycle, isolation, blogging.

I thought it would be interesting to take that little exercise and blog about my day, just using those few words as a chronological prompt.  I'm going to use the slightly longer version, as it is a more complete picture of my day and ends with me sitting down to write this blog entry.  So here we go!
