Counting my Blessings

Y'all:

I feel like I left everything on a major down note last night, and that's not my intention at all.  It's not all bad here, but I am stressed out.  So let me think of the positive things tonight before I go to bed.

Three Weeks In

Y'all:

I'm in Alaska, and just three weeks ago I stood in front of my very own classroom for the first time.  I stood at the front of the room and stared at the unfamiliar faces of my brand-new students.  It was mildly terrifying, but I had planned out a great getting-to-know-you survey and a brief lesson to introduce myself.  My plan was to run the same lesson with each class period because hey, it's the first day of school, and I need to learn who these wonderful young people are.

By second period, I saw the error of my ways.

So I pressed the "RESET" button on my blog, a new year has dawned, and I haven't sat down to spend time reflecting.  Everybody knows that I'm an addle-coved berk, but I"m honestly trying to fill this year with positive life-changes and positive thinking.  2014 is going to be a good year not because I say it is, but because I intend to make it so.  I figure that tonight is as good a night as any to begin the path of reforming my blog, so prepare yourself for a meaty update.

I recommend popcorn and white wine ;)
